Bliss Spa founder Marcia Kilgore's inexpensive Soap & Glory Line for Target is one of our faves and they now have Soap & Glory Spa. I was so excited to try out the Sugar Crush Body Scrub, that I jumped in the shower as soon as a got home. Seconds later, my whole bathroom smelled as sweet as a candy store. An exfoliating mixture of brown sugar and almond oil, I almost wanted to grab a spoon and eat it, but instead resisted and scrubbed it all over. It succeeded in coating my skin in a delicious scent, but I didn't see any long lasting exfoliating benefits. Like the Bliss line, this seemed to be all about scent and packaging rather than true skin care, but luckily it was pretty cheap. If I had dug into my pockets for some Bliss products, I don't think I would have been as forgiving.
Meanwhile I spent a pretty penny on Lush's Almond Butter Buttercream Bar. As if the title didn't give it away, this leaves you with a delicious buttery scent. And boy does it exfoliate! It's scratchy to the point of uncomfortable, but beauty is pain! I would only use on your arms, legs, tush, stomach and feet, much like how they would do when getting a body scrub at a spa. In fact, my skin is so delightfully smooth and creamy after using this, soap, it's almost as if I did go to a spa. I think I know what my gay brother is getting for Christmas!
