It seems like
Daisy Fuentes is one of those geniuses like
Suzanne Somers who turned what could have been 15 minutes of fame into a marketing empire. The former MTV veejay already launched a successful jean and perfume line for Kohl's and serves as a spokesperson for such reputable brands as Revlon and Pantene. Now she's extending her reach to her own hair line launching in March called
Daisy Fuentes Style Pro.

It consists of nine sulfate and paraben-free items priced from $7.99 to $9.99. It includes Smooth & Straight Conditioner and Shampoo; Curls & Waves Shampoo, Conditioner and Mousse; Ultra Deep Conditioner; All Day Hair Spray; Straightening Blow Dry Flat Iron Finishing Spray, and High Shine Finishing Spray. While the shampoos and conditioners I could take or leave, I
am interested in trying out the Flat Iron finishing spray and the High Shine Finishing Spray. At at less that $10 a pop, it's worth the risk.
According to
WWD, Daisy Fuentes Style Pro is expected to enter 11,000-plus doors in its first year, including Walgreens and Rite Aid. They're banking on it generating $12 million to $15 million in first-year sales. About 25 percent of sales will be put toward advertising beginning in April with newspaper inserts and in beauty, fashion and lifestyle magazines.
With the economy the way it is, launching anything right now is highly risky, but with
Pretties wanting to save their pennies, perhaps another low-cost hair line is just what we need.
