How to become a lil' more Eco-Pretty

So we at LA Pretty probably use just as many different pens as we do lip glosses. So we decided to take a look at what's around us to make our offices more Eco-Pretty with help from TerraCycle! They introduced two products to us that we absolutely love!


First their corn pens have us feeling totally corny because we heart them. Corn pens are made from Mater-Bi which is derived from cornstarch. Mater-Bi is remarkably similar in look and feel to ordinary plastic with one important exception: it is completely biodegradable! This means that unlike conventional plastics that never breakdown, this TerraCycle pen will disintegrate in about 12 months after being discarded (breakdown occurs in soil, composters, landfills, etc).

Not to mention that these pens are totally durable and write perfectly like any other pen. Plus, if you're a nervous pen chewer these are safe because they don't contain any harsh chemicals.

Next we must be organized and how do we stay that way? With their 'Waste Corkboard' as it's stylish and practical. It's very sophisticated and artistic looking in real life and more exciting than anything else in your office. It's all corks from various wine bottles styled in a perfect sqaure for you to put VIP memos on.

TerraCycle gets cork from their Cork Brigade, restaurants, suppliers, and Normacorc (largest cork supplier in the world). Cork as a natural resource is running out so it's very environmentally responsible to be reusing it in the right way.
