Yay for Yoga!

Are you stressed, in pain, or feeling flabby? Answer: "who isn't?" I think it's time we all take a look at our friend yoga. Practicing yoga can actually help with these issues and more. It won't help with your taxes, but it will aid in restoring sanity and cleanse your insides.

This Pretty spent the past few days restoring my "zen" via yoga classes and reading "Yoga To The Rescue." It's full of "remedies for real girls" - like us! I learned how my body is benefiting from doing all of those awkward standing poses. This book also makes it easy to do yoga at home because it provides lots of sequences with descriptive and cute drawings. Best of all it's made by women for women, which means it's practical and done right. Yoga To The Rescue is more like a deck of cards because it's bound by a ring so you can easily flip to your "zen" pose. Another plus, everything is illustrated by realistic looking women - not teenage floozies.

An example of one of their cards is below:

I adore all the quotes that you read throughout, for example:

"Sexy isn't how your derriere looks in a pair of jeans. Sexy is self-confidence and self-acceptance."

Very true! Pretties are sexy on the inside and out; but when it comes to actually doing all these moves at home or gym isn't easy unless you have the right gear. Since balancing your body on one leg while twisting the opposite way works up a big sweat; you may find yourself sliding around your yoga mat or carpet. Not Pretty! This is dangerous and can cause serious unwanted injuries. Avoid the slip and slide and get yourself a set of Yoga Paws. Yes they're as cute as they sound! The paws are made to fit snugly on hands and feet with grips that are strong enough to carry you through your vinyasana. Yoga Paws don't feel weird to use, they actually make it easier to practice yoga, and best of all you don't have to have to lug around and mat when you have petite Yoga Paws.

When putting the paws to serious use the material doesn't get in the way when holding poses or quickly going through sequences. I found that it's actually better than having a mat that you're confined to. The company also makes paws for men, both costing $34.95 here. I'm so happy with my paws that I keep them in my gym bag for yoga class and to pull out at home for 'Rescue Girl' tips.

After all this yoga talk, you're thinking that I heart Yoga. Well, Yes we're having a love affair and I'm showcasing it with my "I Heart Yoga" tee from lucy. It's super comfy and and not too tight, allowing me to move during difficult poses. lucy only designs the best and most awesome clothes for looking Pretty while getting your fitness on.
