I'm making no anthropologies

Recently I spotted a sign on my neighborhood anthropologie on Beverly Blvd. that was devastating: "moving, space for lease." Oh no!!! Located a mere 10 minute walk from my apartment, a lot of sad nights turned into happy ones after an impromptu stroll to this location to have a looksee through their sales rack. The proximity to anthro was part of the reason why I moved to my apartment in the first place!

So upon hearing that the BF and I were invited to a birthday party where I was instructed to wear a "fancy cocktail dress," I headed over to anthro to a) investigate where the new location would be and b) find said cocktail dress.

Well no dresses fit me properly - at least none that were on the sales rack which is the only place from where I buy at anthro***(see footnote below) - but instead I found some other goodies:

Level 99 Ariana Wide Leg in Brown for $50 (marked down from $100). I though for a hot second about getting a pair in Purple, but I'll wait and see..After researching Level 99 I found that the two celebrities they tout as fans of the line are the very annoying Eva Longoria and Katherine HAAAYgel. Not promising.

Nonetheless, these jeans are super comfy and very flattering. The waist is high and comfy and the butt looks good. Plus, the color and quality is good enough that I can get away with wearing them to work and not look like a schlub.
Soaring Beams Cardigan in Red. Unfortunately, they had no Gray in my size and the White looked blah, so let's do red. It's a great way to fancy up a jeans and t-shirt outfit, plus it's not heavy and hot so it's a good investment for LA Pretty living.

I also bought a very Pretty Charlie & Robin cardigan that I can't for the life of me find online.

But the best part about this whole trip was that I was told that the anthropologie is moving to another location on Beverly, south of Wilshire. So this means that now my neighborhood anthro will be a mere 5 minutes walk away from my house! Hooray for shopping!
Plus, after cleaning my closet I realized I already have the perfect cocktail dress, this Richard Chai for Target number that set me back a mere $20. Loves it!

***The exception being this:I was going to a work event in New York and was instructed (politely by my NY-native boss) to wear a black or gray ensemble because "that's what they wear in New York." So I bought this Dearie Top at full price as it fit the NY requirements and had a cute, girly ruffle that was oh so Pretty. Of course now it's on sale, but live and learn.
