Twitter speeds up trend evolution

Fashion blogger @ NY Fashion Week

Is Twitter going to speed up the fashion trend life cycle? It has the potential to according to ConsumingPR. They stated, "With the exception of WWD, fashion trends are mostly reported by print magazine[s] on a monthly basis. Now, with the use of twitter, fashionistas everywhere can consume fashion 24/7. This enables consumers to become inspired by trends, designers and celebrities at any moment."

We at LA Pretty love our Twitter friends and have found that the site helps increase our readership. Although, there is a huge abundance tweets on Twitter, many of them can be irrelevant or off topic. This makes it harder to follow those fiesty fashion bloggers. Twitter isn't succeeding on its own; behind every good tweet is a savvy author with a website. These online outlets accompanied by Twitter provide runway to ready to wear inspiration for fashionistas everywhere. Although, you need to know who to follow.

With magazine lead times going a snail's pace (4-6 months), maybe they'll need to adjust further to accompany this viral speed. Lets not forget department stores and buyers, how will they keep us as new fashion demands evolve? Only time will tell.

I'm going to tweet about this now.
