Dove video examines the life of your face

Here's a wonderful video to brighten up a somber day of feeling-not-so-Pretty that we found via Jezebel. Dove's wonderful "campaign for real beauty" continues to turn conventional perceptions of beauty on its ear with this project by UK documentary filmmaker Pinny Grylls. The video uses a split screen to show the face of one woman while another woman is giving her first impression of what that woman's face says about her.

The results are oftentimes sweet, sometimes, funny, but always insightful. I especially love how the women with luminous skin mentions that she loves moles in other women, and how one woman who was perceived as "looking like a mouse" actually enjoys her kickboxing and participates in body-building competitions.

It leaves me thinking about how women are always seemingly at odds with each other, when that is really far from the truth. And how the lives of other women that you don't know are often wonderful, surprising, and very beautiful.
